YOUNG GUNS

1. BODY RULES - Body, engine are the same as Pure Stock 4. Carburetor must be stock carburetor for engine type used, but may interchange carburetor from one model to the other within the same make.
2. DRIVER - Must be between ages 12 up to and including 17. Females age 12 and older ok. Drivers under age 18 must have both parents or legal guardian sign a liability release form. If a driver has won a race in a different division anytime during the season, he/she may not return to young guns at any time during the season.
3. ENGINE - Any oem 4 cylinder engine. Front wheel drives ok. Fuel injection ok. Single over head cam, 16 valve max. head, dual spark plugs ok. (No double over head cams.) Fuel injected engines’ intake manifolds may be modified to accept a stock carburetor that came on this car.
A) In order to keep this division affordable, a $600 engine buy out rule will be in effect. This will include all items attached to the engine except carburetor, transmission and starter. $50 will be charged for motor pull services by the buyer. The seller has the option of trading engines with the buyer of his/hers, in which case, both parties will pay $50 for motor pull services.
B) Chevrolet chassis and bodies may run Ford or Toyota 4 cylinder engines with stock carburetor (stock carburetor may be interchanged from one model to another). NO HOLLEY 350’S.
4. CAM - Solid or hydraulic ok. Max. lift .425” with .025” lash, hydraulic .000” lash.
5. WEIGHT - 1 lb. per c.c. with a minimum weight of 2000 lbs.
6. TOP GUN - After a driver wins their 1st main event, they are considered a TOP GUN and must start the next main event in the rear of the field. Any female over the age of 18 that wins 5 main events during the season must move up a division. We encourage active participation by all females that have an interest in competitive racing.
7. RACING PROCEDURES - It is mandatory that all drivers know the purpose of all racing flags, lights and scoring procedures, especially the reverting back to the last complete scored lap when a caution comes out. All racing procedures will be observed at all times in this division. Any driver that shows limited driving skills may be encouraged to start in the rear of the main event in the interest of safety. Once a driver acquires the necessary skills, they will be able to draw for a starting position in the mains.
8. SAFETY - Like all other divisions, drivers’ safety is the number one priority!!! All safety equipment, such as, a well-constructed roll cage, padding, working fire extinguisher, driving suit, gloves, footwear and a good knowledge of how to use these items is mandatory.
9. This is strictly a learning division and will be enforced as such. Rough driving will not be tolerated and will be determined by the flagman and tower staff. Safety, learning, enjoyment and fun are what this division is all about. Parents, please have patience with these drivers and staff while these youngsters become the next legends of dirt, such as, MIKE DUVALL, RON PARKER, “FLAMIN” RAYMOND PENNINGTON, BRIAN SIPES and all the rest of the experienced ANTIOCH SPEEDWAY drivers. Most of all, have fun and set good examples for the young drivers.
