CAROLINA'S LATE MODEL
2008
1. BODY - Five star or performance bodies, or fabricated steel  or aluminum bodies ok. 1? tolerance on all body measurements. Fiberglass ok. You  may use any manufactures snout with any body and engine as long as body and  engine match. Rear of car may be open. Rear bumper cover is optional. You must  have a full metal firewall front and back that goes all the way around the  driver. Steel floor pan must be under the driver?s seat and compartment. Floor  pan not mandatory on passenger side. SPOILERS - Max. width 72? by 8?  high. Side spoilers ok. SAS body rules apply. Center braces for rear  spoiler ok (must be same dimensions as side spoiler). Rear spoiler height at top  of spoiler to the ground is 45?. Maximum body width 76?.
2. CHASSIS & SUSPENSION - Minimum wheel base 101? with 1?  tolerance. You may use stock frame or uni-body, stock snout and tubing rear, or  full tubular chassis. Tubular upper A-frames of any length may be used on any  frame. You may use any shock (including coil overs). You may use screw jacks. If  car is rear coil spring, you may have rear screw jacks. Rack and pinion steering  ok. Wide five front hubs ok.
3. REAR END - Any stock type or floater ok; quick change ok.
4. BRAKES - Any. Any pedals ok.
5. WHEELS - 14? maximum (steel or aluminum). Any offset. Bead  locks ok.
6. TIRES - Good Year G-45 and G- 50 only NO grooving. Must punch 50 before the  race. Max. tread width(outside tread to outside tread) 11". Racers will have several weeks to race out their Hoosier spec - D-55 tires from 2007.
7. DRIVE SHAFT - Any. Must be painted white and have loop  around front of drive shaft with car #.
8. TRANSMISSION - Any. FLYWHEEL - Any. CLUTCH - Any 2 or 3 disc type legal; Bert and Brinn ok.
9. ENGINE SETBACK - 6? maximum.1?tolerance max.
10. Racing Gas - Such as sold at the track. Must pass track  test. NO additives. 112 octane max. (FUEL PROTEST $50)
11. WEIGHT - Front snout, full factory frames, uni-body frames  with leaf springs 2500 lbs. and full tube frames 2550 lbs. after race. NO  tolerance. Declared running weight must be on the hood before the heat race or  qualifying. See optional motor rules for those engine weights. cars running n351 or  352 heads must add 100 lbs of weight.
CRATE MOTORS FOR LATE MODEL
1. You may use the 350-HD factory stock GM performance crate engine #88958602  (vortex steel head version) or the ZZ4 engine with dual plane high rise aluminum  intake 355-HP #88958603 at 2200 lbs, or the fast burn head version with single  plane aluminum intake 400-405 HP #88958604 at 2300lbs. You may use the Mopar  performance crate engine part # 5007958, 400 hp at 2300 lbs. See weight for each  particular engine, all other Mopar crate engines. See track officials to see if  it is qualified to run as Mopar crate engine. These engines are sealed and any  maintenance that requires breakage of any seal must be inspected by certified  personnel and resealed by those personnel.
2. CARBURETOR -Any 750 (Fastrak rules apply on carburetor.) No  modifications. May remove choke and choke horn. Max. base size is 1 11/16??. The  GM performance crate engine #88958602 may run a maximum 2? carburetor plate.
3. IGNITION - HEI or MSD ($350 BUY OUT ON MSD CONTROL BOX)
4. ALTERNATOR - Any.
5. WATER PUMP - Any.
6. STARTER - Any.
7. FUEL - Pump gasoline or track fuel ok. 92 octane recommended  for these engines. NO additives. 112 octane max. ($50 FUEL PROTEST)
8. WHEELS - Steel or aluminum. Bead locks ok. Maximum 14? wide.  Any offset.
9. TIRES -TIRES - Good Year G-45 and G- 50 only NO grooving. Must punch 50 before the  race. Max. tread width(outside tread to outside tread) 11". Racers will have several weeks to race out their Hoosier spec - D-55 tires from 2007.

11. Crate engine and weight must be declared at drivers meeting and painted  on the hood.

12. Weights may be changed during the year in the interest of competitive  racing.
13. These crate engines MUST remain factory stock with stock parts such as  rocker arms, valve springs, keepers. The track has a list of all engines and all  OEM part numbers.
OPTIONAL MOTORS FOR LATE MODELS
12. ENGINE- GM engine/GM body. FORD engine/FORD  body. 365 c.i. max. Ford or Chevy. 374 c.i. max.  Chrysler.
BLOCK - Stock OEM cast iron or any aftermarket steel        block. Must stay within the 365 cubic inch limit and be stock stroke.        (Example: GM 3.48? and Ford 3.5?) NO ALUMINUM BLOCKS. 0? deck ok.
PISTONS - Any flat top. NO part of the piston can come        out of the block.
CRANK - Stock type. STOCK STROKE. Minimum weight        48 lbs cast or steel. Does not have to be OEM #'s, but must weigh        correctly.
RODS - Any steel.
CAM- Any flat tappet solid lift.
VALVE - Chevy 2.02?int., 1.600?exh. Ford 2.190?int.,        1.710?exh. Mopar 2.02?int., 1.625?exh. + .010? No Titanium.
VALVE SPRINGS - Any. RETAINERS/KEEPERS -        Any steel , No Titanium
LIFTERS - Any stock DIAM. GM .842? FORD .875? Roller rockers        ok.
CARBURETOR - Any 750. Choke flap and choke horn may be        removed. . Base plate maximum size is 1 11/16?. NO grinding of any kind.
SPACERS - Any.
INTAKE - Any Aluminum. NO porting or polishing of any        kind to intake.
OIL PAN - Any. Wet sump only. Single stage external oil        pump ok. No reservoir.
IGNITION - No magnetos. FUEL PUMP - No        electric. MSD ok. ($350 BUY OUT RULE ON MSD CONTROL BOX)
HEADS - Any OEM cast iron head, bowtie, vortec and        factory OEM angle plug heads ok. World products S/R Torquer #042660 thru        #042750-2 heads ok for              GM engines. NO DART HEADS. You may blend 1? max. deep under        valve seat and do a multi-angle valve job, but the rest of the port must        remain stock and unaltered in any way. You may use screw in studs and        guide plates and angle mill the head. You may use roller rockers and stud        girdles. FORD may run N351 #6049 heads or N352 heads (cars running these n heads  must add an additional 100 lbs. to their cars)., or World products        Windsor Jr. cast iron heads #053030 thru #053030-2. These Windsor Jr.        heads may have 2.02?x 1.600? steel valves installed.
HEADERS - Any ok.
